Our group enjoyed the downhill view of the city, the beautiful rugged peaks of Balakayo Ranges, and the vast farm land of South Cotabato and perhaps Sarangani Province.
We reached the peak few minutes before 8:00 AM. The peak was has as tore where hikers could buy food and drinks and a well-maintained camp site which could cater more than 30 campers at a time.
Shane was overjoyed by the beautiful view and perhaps by his new accomplishment of reaching the top of a mountain for the first time. That time, I was very sure; a mountaineer was born.
Sanchez peak may not be that attracted to hard core mountaineers due to its low elevation and gradual trail; but my enjoyment in this rough terrain is as meaningful as other lofty mountains that I climbed before. My zealous and friendly companions, the good view, and the chilling breeze were of course the reason behind.
As to Shane, his eyes were manifesting a memorable experience when we are tidying up. I'm sure his dad felt and observed the same thing that time.
My gratitude to Distor Family of General Santos for the superb hospitality.
