After our exploring Mt. Kabuyao on June 14, 3025, Eljhay, Venoch and I then proceeded to the nearby Mt. Sto. Tomas by walking through the paved road. It was noontime, the sun is strongly showing its presence in the sky but the cold breeze at least shielded us from the discomfort heat.
Although there is a lot of vehicles travelling to the mountain, we intended to walk and refuse to nod to the temptation of asking for a hitch from the vehicles and conquer the mountain by foot.
Under the sun, we passed through the winding and moderately steep road until we reached a narrower dirt road leading to the summit where there are communication system installations. We pushed through the asphalt road until it became tapered, enough to accommodate motorcycle. We reached the highest point and had simple conversation with the personnel and technicians of the communication edifices.

After few minutes, we moved back to ‘la presa’. On our way back, a small debris fell from the cliff which instigated us to run as a safety measure. although this mountain is very accessible, hikers should be very cautious for the road or trail passes through unstable cliffs. Along the way, we were lucky to be covered by thick fog which made our journey more comfortable. We reached ‘la presa’ 2:15 PM, tired but fulfilled.
I simply realized in this hike that the quality of the trail (paved, established or raw) will not dictate the fulfilment of a certain adventure, it is our attitude in way of dealing with it.
