... I don't remember anymore the chronology of events during our climb in Mt. Maculot but I can still recall that it was filled with funny stories, and gestures of brotherhood and friendship. I tried to check my journal and realized that I was not in the mood of writing anything during the time when we climbed Maculot, all I entered in my journals were sketches... purely sketches of smiling faces.
November 17, 2010; contacts and aspirants of the De La Salle Brothers from various Lasallian Schools met at De La Salle Lipa for a fellowship. With Br. Ruben FSC, Br. Aikee FSC and more than 15 contacts and aspirants we enjoyed the day in Maculot.
The climb was filled with sharing, care and camaraderie. We shared our food together, exchanged funny and inspiring stories, and offered hands and shoulders to those struggling to push forward to the summit.
I don't know why I specifically remember the food that I brought that time, wheat bread, fresh lettuce and tunaflakes! Every time that I would climb, this food always in my mind. Probably, God's way to remind me to take healthier food.

I would say that during our climb, everyone enjoyed the beauty of the mountain... the wildlife, the forest and the downhill view. From the time that we started trekking along the forest; birds, butterflies, bees and some insects were as if welcoming us with chirps and buzzes. As we walk deeper into the woods and grasslands gentle movement of swaying branches of trees and waving green cogon stalks were as if waving to us. When we stood on the Rockies, we had our reward, the beautiful view of Taal Lake and its surrounding landscape.
My journey with the brothers is one of the most memorable moment of my life. I hope we to see them again in 'there'.
